Task Brief: App Landing Page for a Meditation App

Project Overview: You are tasked with designing a captivating and user-friendly app landing page for Hakuna’s meditation app.

Target Audience: The target audience includes individuals seeking relaxation, stress relief, mindfulness, and overall mental well-being. This may encompass a diverse demographic range, including but not limited to young professionals, students, parents, and retirees.

Design Objectives:

Simplicity and Clarity: The design should prioritize simplicity and clarity to ensure easy navigation and comprehension for users.

Task:

We aim to create an alternative homepage, where instead of providing the user with the entire menu of all meditations, we will guide them through a step-by-step process to start from scratch and progress as they move along.

The first course will be the welcome course (14 sessions), followed by the beginner's course (30 sessions).

Later on, we can explore the option of continuing with full guidance or even creating a small 'choose your own adventure,' offering diverse courses and some single sessions based on emotion, location, time of day, or life situation. These could be on the sidelines as extras like Duolingo or integrated into the main journey

Deliverables:

  1. Wireframes: Provide wireframes illustrating the layout and structure of the landing page.

  2. Visual Design Mockups: Develop visual design mockups incorporating the agreed-upon design elements, color scheme, and imagery.

WIREFRAMES


Initially, I began with hand-drawn mockups to brainstorm and experiment with various concepts. During this phase, my focus was primarily on exploring different options, creating rough designs, and generating ideas. Additionally, I conducted research by examining the Hakuna App and similar meditation apps available in the market. I also scoured the web for any inspirational ideas. This stage primarily involved exploration, the creation of wireframes, and preparing them for the transition into the next phase of high-fidelity designs.

VISUAL DESIGNS

The final design stage commenced at this point. I carefully considered the UI kit provided, incorporating its colors, schemes, fonts, and ensuring the copywriting was effective. Simplifying navigation was a priority, aiming for a user-friendly experience. Additionally, I developed alternative ideas for potential main home pages. Upon completion of the designs, I propose creating prototypes to be tested by real users. Gathering feedback will enable us to select the option with the highest approval ratings.

I spent a lot of time focusing on the home page because it was a crucial part of the project. I tried out different designs and options, knowing that user feedback would help me choose the best one. I enjoyed the process of thinking through ideas and designing alternatives.

Social Media Post Brief: Meditation Instagram Feed

Objective: To craft a captivating and engaging social media post for the Instagram feed of a meditation app, inspiring followers to embrace mindfulness and explore the app's features.

Audience: The target audience comprises individuals interested in meditation, mindfulness, holistic wellness, and stress management. They may range from busy professionals to students and stay-at-home parents seeking balance and inner peace.

Platform: The social media post will be shared on Instagram, a visual-centric platform where aesthetics, authenticity, and meaningful content resonate with users.

Key Message: Promote the practice of meditation as a pathway to inner calm, clarity, and self-discovery. Encourage followers to integrate mindfulness into their daily lives with the support of the meditation app.

Content Elements:

  1. Visual Theme: Select imagery that evokes serenity and tranquility, such as nature scenes, peaceful landscapes using Hakuna’s design elements and illustrations (see link below.) Ensure high-quality visuals that align with Instagram's aesthetic standards

  2. Branding Integration: Seamlessly integrate the app's logo and branding elements into the post while maintaining a cohesive visual identity. Ensure that the branding does not overshadow the essence of the message.

Compliance and Guidelines:

  • Ensure compliance with Instagram's community guidelines, including content authenticity, respect for intellectual property rights, and adherence to ethical standards.

  • Maintain consistency with the app's brand voice, tone, and messaging across all social media channels.
